Criterion 5.1 In TCO Certified, generation 10, for displays states that all displays sold in Europe must receive an energy efficiency index. Here’s a more detailed explanation of how testing should be carried out.

The energy efficiency index (label) must be calculated according to the section “Energy labelling of electronic displays” in the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2013. In practice, this means that the EEI_label for the standard dynamic range (SDR) needs to be calculated. To do this, the “P_measured” value for the product’s “on mode” must be measured according to the regulation mentioned above. No other parameters in the regulation need to be used to comply with the mandate. Testing must be carried out by a laboratory accredited to ISO 17025.

A clarification will be added in the next edition of the criteria document TCO Certified, generation 10, for displays. If you have questions, please contact viktor.wennstrom@tcodevelopment.com.
