The Process Chemical Data Collection (PCDC) tool has been updated and is now available for download at our website.
The updated PCDC tool version 1.1 can now be downloaded here. At this website, you can also find a link to instructional videos and guidelines that will help you complete the document correctly.
The PCDC tool is a standardised reporting tool that has been licensed to TCO Development by the Clean Electronics Production Network and Green America since 2018. It is part of the process chemicals criterion that was introduced in TCO Certified, generation 8. The tool helps improve the process of collecting and managing data related to process chemicals used in electronics manufacturing processes.
To comply with the process chemical criterion, manufacturers must use the tool to submit information on the management of process chemicals to TCO Development. They must list the types of chemicals workers are exposed to, and report the level of safety equipment and training that workers are provided with.
The PCDC tool helps TCO Development research the current situation at manufacturing facilities. The next step will be to develop a list of safer process chemical alternatives, which will be part of the draft of TCO Certified, generation 9.
