With the next generation TCO Certified, we’re taking a major step toward a sustainable life cycle for electronics. As you can see in the criteria draft, TCO Certified, generation 8 will focus on further building transparency and responsibility in supply chain, material use and product life. With leadership criteria and independent verification as the backbone of TCO Certified, purchasers, brands and suppliers will have a tool they can trust and stand behind.

Be among the first to certify

When we go live with TCO Certified, generation 8, in early December, brands will have the opportunity to be recognized as the first with certified products. Brands with products certified during the September-December application period will have these products listed in conjunction with the launch and receive special recognition for being first to certify. Look for more more information in September.

Some key dates to watch going forward

May 31: last day to submit comments on draft criteria.
June-August: Review of all comments and finalization of criteria.
September 4: Publication of final criteria. Application period opens.
December 3: Last day to certify to current generation TCO Certified.
November 20: Last day for applications to be eligible for “first to certify” recognition.
December 4: Live launch of TCO Certified, generation 8. Recognition of brands and products that are first to certify.
