We are thrilled to be part of ICLEI’s upcoming sustainability, innovation, and circular procurement event, the Procura+ Conference in Lisbon, on March 13-14. On the second day of the Procura+ Conference, the team behind TCO Certified will host two different sessions.
The sessions are an excellent opportunity to learn more about computers, smartphones, and other IT products, which are a source of greenhouse gases throughout their life cycle, from manufacturing to distribution, use, and disposal. Most organizations generate significant emissions through their IT infrastructure. Procurement can play a crucial role in reducing these emissions, but it can be challenging to determine where to begin and what to prioritize.
During an interactive roundtable at the Market Lounge titled “Putting carbon-conscious IT procurement into action,” we will highlight how public buyers can address this issue. The roundtable session will focus on strategically using IT purchasing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition to the conference program, participants will meet our international team at the AGORA — a collaborative space that serves as a meeting ground for sustainable and circular procurement activities. We will host an exclusive deep-dive training into current best practices on sustainable IT procurement. Participants will explore the IT procurement journey, discover the main ways and opportunities to include sustainability and learn how to use TCO Certified as a tool.
