Sören Enholm, CEO at TCO Development, is number 51 on the list of Sweden’s 101 most influential people in sustainability. The list is put together by the magazine Aktuell Hållbarhet’s readers, and a jury.

The list includes people who over the past year have set the agenda and pushed the development in a more sustainable direction. It includes people working with restructuring businesses, finding smart new solutions, and driving politics to prevent global warming, upgrading the value of nature’s resources, and achieving a more sustainable consumption and production.

– I’m very happy to see that our work toward more sustainable IT products is recognized in this way. Together with buyers who demand more sustainable IT products, we drive the IT industry in the right direction, says Sören Enholm.

Sören has led the work with the sustainability certification TCO Certified since 2009. The sustainability requirements of TCO Certified affect how more than 100 million IT products are manufactured each year. At the end of last year, the requirements were further tightened — towards a more circular design, safer chemicals and better working conditions in the factories.

TCO Development’s vision is that all IT products should have an environmentally and socially sustainable life cycle.

Number one of the list of the most influential people in sustainability this year is the environmental activist Greta Thunberg.
