Thin-clients, ultra thin-clients, workstations and small scale servers can all be certified, even though there is no category-specific criteria document.

Some guidance on how to apply for certification in these categories:

• If the computer product contains a built-in display, please refer to the criteria in TCO Certified All-in-One PCs 3.
• If computer has no built-in display, please refer to the criteria in TCO Certified Desktops 5.
• The TCO Certified energy criteria are harmonized with Energy Star criteria where possible. Ultra-thin clients (a.k.a. zero clients) are not covered by Energy Star and are therefore excluded from the energy consumption criteria in TCO Certified, under the condition that the product is specified to consume less power than a thin client is allowed to consume under Energy Star.

If your ultra-thin client consumes more energy than permitted for thin-clients by Energy Star, please contact us for further guidance.
