We have updated criterion 4.2, acoustic noise. Testing can now be carried out according to ECMA-74, 20th edition.

ECMA-74, 20th edition includes changes to the operating modes during testing. The following modes are included:

  • Web browsing mode
  • Office productivity
  • Media content creation
  • Power user & gaming

These modes may be used instead of the “HDD”, “CPU”, and “ODD” modes, which are stated in the old edition.

ECMA-74, 20th edition will also be used for testing acoustic noise levels in TCO Certified, generation 10. If you have questions, please contact us on certification@tcodevelopment.com.
