How do I know if a certificate is valid?
A new generation of TCO Certified is released every three years. When a new generation is launched, products can no longer be certified to the previous generation.

With the next generation TCO Certified, we're taking a major step toward a sustainable life cycle for electronics. As you can see in the criteria draft, TCO Certified, generation 8 will focus on further building transparency and responsibility in supply chain, material use and product life. With leadership criteria and independent verification as the backbone of TCO Certified, purchasers, brands and suppliers will have a tool they can trust and stand behind.

Update – New Certification Handling System
In our September issue we announced that the new online Certification Handling System would be available on December 1st, but due to some last minute upgrades we will postpone the launch until January 8, 2018.

As TCO Certified includes a wide scope of criteria, we want to make the certification process as efficient as possible for you.
Upcoming certificate expirations – Reminder to upgrade
If you have certificates issued under the previous generation of TCO Certified, please remember to upgrade these to the latest generation before November 11, 2017.
Reminder – submitting your application documents
Please make a note of the November 11 deadline to submit your factory audit reports and other supporting documents to be in compliance for the following 12-month period. This is in in accordance with criterion A.7.1 in TCO Certified.
